ACID-BASE ANALYSIS OF BLOOD GAS VALUES - page 4

Lets go through rest of the possible combinations

pH = 7.14

CO2 = 71

HCO3 = 24

blood gas map

The pH is very acidotic at 7.14. The CO2 is also deep into acidosis at 71. The HCO3 is normal. The high CO2 is responsible for this acidosis, caused by hypoventilation:
A RESPIRATORY ACIDOSIS
