Notice how placing the values on the map
pretty much tells you the interpretation
pH = 7.35 | CO2 = 25 | HCO3 = 13 |
Another compensated blood gas with a pH in the normal range.
The pH is on the acidotic side of normal, as is the HCO3 of 13 mEq,
but the CO2 is on the opposite side of normal from the pH
so this is a metabolic acidosis with respiratory compensation
